Benjamin Sesko is about to extend his contract with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. According to dpa information, the Slovenian international will shortly extend his contract, which actually runs until 2028. The 21-year-old striker will also refrain from activating his exit clause of 65 million euros, which is still valid until the end of June. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had initially reported this.
EM participant Sesko had fought his way into a regular place at Leipzig in the second half of the season and scored 14 goals in a total of 31 Bundesliga games. Most recently, there were reports of great interest from English runners-up FC Arsenal in London.
Sesko and Slovenia will face England, Denmark and Serbia at the European Championships, which begin on Friday.
