In its search for a new soccer coach, RB Leipzig is now also looking at Jacob Neestrup, according to media reports. The Dane, who recently led FC Copenhagen to the Danish Cup title, had previously been considered a candidate at Bundesliga rivals VfL Wolfsburg.
According to information from "Kicker" and "Sport Bild", Leipzig's sporting director Marcel Schäfer has now also contacted the 37-year-old, who he is said to have already spoken to during his time at Wolfsburg.
RB is looking for a successor to interim coach Zsolt Löw. The 46-year-old took over from Marco Rose in March and returned to work alongside Jürgen Klopp in Red Bull's global soccer strategy team at the end of the season.
Until recently, Spaniard Cesc Fabregas from Italian first division club Como 1907 and Austrian Oliver Glasner from London Premier League club Crystal Palace were considered top candidates in Leipzig. However, neither of them are currently available for the Saxons.
