SC DHfK Leipzig returned home from Schleswig-Holstein with a 15-goal defeat in its luggage. Halls away from home are still not a good place for the Saxons.

The fact remains: away games in the German Handball League are not SC DHfK Leipzig's cup of tea. The 24:39 (11:21) defeat at record champions THW Kiel was the Saxons' eleventh defeat in a foreign venue this season. Leipzig's best scorers were Andri Mar Runarsson and Lucas Krzikalla with five goals each. Bence Imre scored twelve times for THW.

The "Zebras" immediately had the game under control. The hosts quickly turned a 4:4 (7th minute) lead into 11:4 (14th minute) in front of 10,023 spectators in the sold-out Kiel Arena. The game was already decided when THW led by ten goals at the break.

The game remained one-sided after the break, too. The visitors lacked the means to stop the record champions in every respect. The most acclaimed player was Patrick Wiencek. The THW center back, who ends his career at the end of the season, scored ten goals in a Bundesliga game for the first time.
