Even if the personnel problems at RB Leipzig are getting worse. That doesn't change the Saxons' role as favorites.

RB Leipzig and coach Ole Werner are expecting a tough task in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup against second-division bottom side 1. FC Magdeburg. FCM is a team with many technically strong players who can hurt a first division team, said Werner ahead of the match before the floodlit game this Tuesday (21:00/Sky) in the Red Bull Arena at home. However, he added that his team wanted to live up to their role as favorites.

He will have to do without international player Ridle Baku, who suffered an ankle injury in the Gladbach game. Assan Ouédraogo (knee), El Chadaille Bitshiabu (muscle injury) and Romulo (knee) had previously been ruled out for the two-time cup winners. Timo Werner is also out of the squad due to muscle problems. Lukas Klostermann or Kosta Nedeljkovic would be options to replace Baku in the back four. There will also be rotation in goal. Maarten Vandevoordt will be back in the starting eleven for Peter Gulacsi in the cup.
