The in-form Leipzig handball team was spared another home debacle in the Bundesliga. They held their own against Füchse Berlin for a half before the favorites pulled away.

The SC DHfK Leipzig handball team is still without a win after the eleventh matchday in the Bundesliga. Despite a courageous performance, Raul Alonso's team lost 26:34 (12:15) against Füchse Berlin. In front of 4,875 spectators, Blaer Hinriksson scored seven goals to become the best scorer for the team bottom of the table with 2:20 points. Mathias Gidsel scored eight times for the Foxes.

Compared to the recent home debacles against Flensburg (24:42) and Magdeburg (23:36), Leipzig showed a marked improvement right from the start. They disrupted the German champions' flow of play with their aggressive defense and developed a lot of drive on goal in attack.

The home side kept the game open up to 9:9 (18th minute), before its efficiency in finishing dropped significantly. Berlin now took control. However, Leipzig's goalkeeper Domenico Ebner made ten saves in the first half to prevent the favorites from opening up a clearer gap by the break.

At the start of the second half, Leipzig repeatedly failed to beat Berlin's outstanding goalkeeper Dejan Milosavljev. The Foxes pulled 23:17 ahead in this spell (43') and did not let anything get in their way from then on.
