Harry Kane has been praised countless times for scoring goals. Ahead of Jamal Musiala's imminent return to the pitch after a long injury lay-off, coach Vincent Kompany highlighted one of the star striker's strengths that was particularly in demand during the German international's long lay-off. Kane sometimes has "those moments when he has a bit of that Toni Kroos and Kevin De Bruyne pass", said the coach of the German record champions.
Kompany's condition
The fact that Kane was not always only to be found up front was not due to the absence of Musiala, however. The attacking players have a lot of freedom with him. "If Harry wants to be in the box, he can go there every time," said Kompany. And if he wanted to drop back against deep-lying defenders, the Englishman could do that too.
However, Kompany also revealed a condition for the freedom. When you get into the final third in attack, two players have to be in the penalty area. Otherwise you are in the wrong position, said the Belgian. "It's a mixture of freedom - and then being where the goals are at the end," said the Belgian.
