Halle's sporting director Jan Henning-Himborn celebrated a perfect debut on his return to the SV Union Halle-Neustadt women's handball team's coaching bench. Following the dismissal of coach Till Wiechers, the team from Halle-Neustadt held second-placed BVB Borussia Dortmund to a 28-28 (18-19) draw and thus prevented the team from falling into the relegation zone. Lilli Röpcke (6), Cecilie Woller (5), Cara Reuthal (4) and Alexandra Lundstrom (4/3) played the biggest part in the points. Zoe Sprengers (13/6), Meret Ossenkopp and Carmen Campos Costa (4 each) scored the most goals for the runners-up in the table.
In a thrilling encounter, Dortmund initially pulled 19:16 (29) ahead after 10:10. However, the club from Halle fought back against the threat of defeat and turned the game around. A sensation was in the air at 24:20 (45'). However, Halle trailed 25:27 just eight minutes later. The underdogs salvaged a point with a furious final spurt.
