The Bundesliga match between RB Leipzig and Borussia Mönchengladbach was unusually quiet in the stadium, which was packed with over 40,000 spectators. The 3,500 or so visiting fans held back their support on Saturday evening "because a member of the fan scene died in a traffic accident", Borussia Mönchengladbach announced on the X platform (formerly Twitter) during the match. The Leipzig soccer fans were largely quiet shortly after kick-off because a person had to be resuscitated in the stadium, as RB also announced on X: "Due to these incidents, our fan block is currently refraining from loud support."
