From favorite to fearful opponent: RB Leipzig has been without a home win against FSV Mainz 05 for four years and wants to change that on Saturday. Coach Ole Werner's team can only secure fourth place with a win against the Rheinhessen side. Leipzig will have to replace two regular players. Castello Lukeba is still missing in central defense due to a knee injury. Top scorer Christoph Baumgartner will have to miss out due to a yellow card suspension.
The team celebrated their biggest home win in the Bundesliga against Mainz in November 2019 with an 8-0 victory. However, the last win at home against FSV was on January 8, 2019, followed by two defeats and a draw. They won the first leg in Mainz 1-0, but goalscorer Johan Bakayoko will be on the bench on Saturday after an injury lay-off.
