The unblemished home record of Erzgebirge Aue against 1. FC Saarbrücken is gone. After four wins from four games across the league so far, the Saxons missed out on three points against the Saarland side at home for the first time in a 1-1 (1-0) draw. Marcel Bär (18th minute) gave Aue the lead, Kai Brünker (81st minute) scored the deserved equalizer for the strongest away team in the third soccer league. Saarbrücken thus remain without defeat for the fifth game in a row.
There was a lot of excitement after just four minutes when Marvin Stefaniak was pulled off his feet by former Auer player Calogero Rizzuto in the penalty area - but the referee did not blow his whistle. After that, the aluminum prevented Auer from taking the lead when guest player Patrick Schmidt (12) headed the ball onto his own crossbar after a corner. Boris Tashchy (18) also only hit the inside of the post. Bär did better, nodding in a cross from Linus Rosenlöcher to make it 1-0. It was his sixth goal of the season.
