With great morale, Erzgebirge Aue fought for a point at TSG Hoffenheim II. The 1:1 (0:1) was more than deserved in the end, but the point has little impact on the 3rd division table. Aue slipped to 18th place with the draw. Hoffenheim remain eighth. Umut Tohumcu (2nd minute) had put TSG ahead with the first chance before Tristan Zobel (58th) equalized.
After just 1:29 minutes, the ball rang in the Auer box. The visitors were only able to clear half-heartedly, the deflected ball flew to Tohumcu's feet and he shot in from nine meters to take the lead. Aue did not give up, exerting a lot of pressure, but the chances were not taken, such as Marvin Stefaniak's shot (4th), which missed the left post by centimetres. Jannic Ehlers had the best chance to equalize in first-half stoppage time, but TSG keeper Luca Philipp made a brilliant save from close range.
Aue were rewarded with the equalizer after the break. Tristan Zobel's header (57') bounced back off the crossbar and Zobel was involuntarily helped over the line by TSG player Valentin Lässig.
