The handball players of ThSV Eisenach are running out of steam at the end of the Bundesliga season. Coach Misha Kaufmann's charges lost their home game against VfL Gummersbach 30:34 (13:16) on Sunday, their third defeat in a row. Miro Schluroff (8), Ellidi Snaer Vidarsson (7), Julian Köster, Teitur Örn Einarsson (4 each) and Milos Vujovic (4/2) played the biggest part in the visitors' success. Marko Grgic (13/6), Simone Mengon, Ivan Snajder and Filip Vistorop (4 each) scored the most goals for Eisenach.
The home side missed the start and had to chase a deficit for a long time. Gummersbach pulled away from 4:1 (6th) and 7:3 (11th) to 13:8 (23rd). The club from Thuringia stepped up its game after the break and equalized for the first time at 24:24 (48'), but was not able to take the lead once in the encounter. Gummersbach decided the game in its favor in the final five minutes with a 4:0 run from 28:28 (55') to 28:32 (58').
