The Bundesliga handball team ThSV Eisenach have conceded their first home defeat of the season. The Thuringians lost their clash with MT Melsungen by 27:29 (15:12). Florian Drosten with eight and David Mandic with seven goals played the biggest part in the first win of the season for the club from Hesse. Oskar Joelsson scored the most goals for the home side. He scored six times in front of 2,850 spectators in the Werner-Assmann-Halle.
After an even start, Eisenach took control towards the end of the first half. The club from Thuringia pulled away from 8:8 (20') to 13:9 (26') with a 5:1 run. However, the players of Head Coach Sebastian Hinze missed the start to the second half. Melsungen tied the scores at 18:18 in the 40th minute. The visitors then pulled 27:23 ahead in the 53rd minute and maintained their lead.
