Dynamo Dresden secured their first win of the season in the lower soccer division with a dream goal from Luca Herrmann in stoppage time. The team from the Elbe city achieved a 2:1 (1:0) win at fellow promoted side Arminia Bielefeld. Niklas Hauptmann (21st minute) put the Saxons ahead before Arminia equalized through Joel Grodowski (57th minute). Christopher Lannert was shown the red card in the 75th minute when he brought down substitute Stefan Kutschke from behind in a promising situation. Dynamo's Herrmann scored the winner (90.+10).
It was Bielefeld's first defeat on the Alm in 13 games. Bielefeld had only lost one of their last 18 competitive matches this season, the DFB Cup final in Berlin against VfB Stuttgart.
Following the absence of the trio of strikers Christoph Daferner (hand injury), Vincent Vermeij (viral infection) and Jakob Zickler (shoulder injury), coach Thomas Stamm initially opted for Nils Fröling. He made no changes to the starting line-up against Bielefeld compared to the Mainz game. Bielefeld coach Mitch Kniat, on the other hand, had to replace goalkeeper Jonas Kersken, who was suspended for yellow and red, with Leo Oppermann.
