The young guns in Leipzig's wing positions are inspiring. Coach Ole Werner has geared the team's tactics to their game.

RB Leipzig will also be relying on the dribbling skills of its wingers in the Bundesliga match at Borussia Mönchengladbach this Friday (20:30/Sky). Yan Diomande, who has risen to become one of the best attackers in the Bundesliga, Norwegian Antonio Nusa and Johan Bakayoko should use their strengths to ensure a successful performance at Borussia-Park.

"We always look at which player brings which element that can make us successful, and then we try to put the players in the position where they can play to their strengths through our tactical arrangement, through the idea we have as a team," said RB coach Ole Werner in the matchday press conference.

The one-on-one play of the wingers is a special quality. They should go into dribbling, but can then also lose the ball once in a while, "because we are so organized behind them that we are good at counter-pressing and also secure this situation", emphasized the coach.

Diomande involved despite broken nose

Diomande in particular is always looking for these situations. With three goals and three assists so far, he has shown that RB are doing well with this tactical approach. With five games without conceding a goal, his defending is also largely working well. Diomande will be on the move again in Mönchengladbach. Werner did not say whether he would be wearing a special face mask due to his broken nose.

The coach did not want to say who would replace the injured Assan Ouédraogo in Leipzig's midfield. However, the tendency is likely to be towards Austrian international Xaver Schlager, who is fully fit again. "He's had a lot of success recently and is also feeling good. He's full of juice," said Werner and renewed his interest in working with Schlager in the future. His contract expires at the end of the season, but the midfielder is still hesitant to extend his contract.
