The rumor had been around for a while, but now it's official: Mackenzie Foley is moving from double winners VfB Suhl to final opponents Dresdner SC.

The Dresden SC volleyball team is pressing ahead with its personnel planning and has announced its next spectacular addition. They are strengthening their squad with outside attacker Mackenzie Foley. The 24-year-old from the USA moves from champions and cup winners VfB Suhl to the runners-up and signs a contract for the coming season. The six-time German champions had previously lured Sarah Straube back to the Elbe from Italy and signed another international player, Lena Kindermann.

Foley only moved to Suhl from St. Cloud State University (USA) last summer and became the best outside attacker in the league in the Bundesliga main round. After contributing important points against the DSC ladies in both the cup semi-final and the final series, she will be on the other side of the net in future.

"I chose Dresden because it felt like the right place for me to develop both as a player and as a person right from the start. The club culture, the professionalism and the passion for volleyball really impressed me," explained Foley.

DSC coach Alexander Waibl is looking forward to working together: "We played each other six times last season. I already knew after the first game that Kenzie is an exceptional player who combines two essential qualities for an outside attacker in outstanding form. On the one hand, she is a very, very stable attacking player and on the other, she has a penetrating power in attack that makes her very special."
