Dresdner SC's volleyball players won the top match in the Bundesliga against SC Potsdam by a clear 3:1 (25:20, 22:25, 27:25, 25:14). Alexander Waibl's charges thus showed a strong reaction to their elimination in the first round of the European Cup this week and defended their lead in the table at the same time.
The Dresden team got off to a very focused start, dictating the action in the first set in front of 2,927 spectators with powerful tasks and a stable block and court defense and consistently exploiting their chances in attack. The picture changed at the start of the second set. While Waibl's team now made numerous easy mistakes, the Potsdam team got into the match better and better. They improved in all elements and fought back to equalize the set.
Dresden regained their composure in the third period, minimized their error rate and opened up a clear lead. However, the women from Brandenburg did not give up and fought back in the crunch time against the DSC, which the team from the city on the Elbe narrowly won. In the fourth set, the leaders were clearly superior in all areas and deservedly took the three points.
