Second-division soccer team Dynamo Dresden has to pay high fines for fan violations. Following an appeal, however, the DFB reduces the amounts.

The appeal by second-division soccer club Dynamo Dresden against two fines imposed by the German Football Association's sports court has paid off. For the misconduct of its supporters around the third division match against Waldhof Mannheim on May 10, the Saxons only have to pay 75,000 instead of 100,350 euros.

Another fine relating to the match at Hansa Rostock in February was reduced from 113,450 to 90,000 euros. The Dresden supporters allegedly not only set off pyrotechnics in the East German clash, but also destroyed security windows.

What happened in Mannheim?

During the match against Mannheim, in which Dynamo clinched promotion, several Dresden spectators entered the stadium during the closing stages. As a result, the match was interrupted for several minutes. In addition, hundreds of Dresden fans stormed the pitch after the final whistle, some of whom set off pyrotechnics, as reported by the DFB.
