The local transport strike in Munich is also making it difficult to travel to FC Bayern's cup match against RB Leipzig. The record champions turn to the fans.

On the day of the cup match against RB Leipzig, FC Bayern Munich has once again called on its fans to plan their journey well and arrive at the stadium early due to the public transport strike. "Please plan your journey to the DFB Cup quarter-final against RB Leipzig (kick-off 20:45) accordingly and leave for the stadium in good time! The Allianz Arena is open from 18:30. We ask for your understanding and patience. Pack ma's!", wrote the record-breaking soccer champions on Platform X.

The subway will only run in a special service from 5.30pm between the Marienplatz and Fröttmaning stops, and only around half of the buses will be in operation, the club announced. Longer waiting times and high capacity utilization are therefore expected.

Switch to carpooling and other means of transport

The Munich transport company MVG also recommends that spectators "switch to alternative means of transport and carpooling". The S-Bahn network is not affected by the strike, but there is construction work on the main line.

The quarter-final match will kick off at 8.45 pm (ARD and Sky). The stadium can hold 75,000 spectators. The majority usually travel to the games by public transport. The trade union Verdi has called for an all-day local transport warning strike for the match day, including in Munich.
