The Niners Chemnitz basketball team missed out on a place in the playoff semi-finals for the German championship. The players of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore lost 64:92 (41:48) at MLP Academics Heidelberg on Tuesday and went down 1:3 in the best-of-five series. Michael Weathers played the biggest part in Heidelberg's victory with 24 points. Kevin Yebo (12) scored the most points for the visitors.
The club from Saxony kept the encounter open into the second quarter and led 32:30 after twelve minutes. However, Heidelberg then pulled away from 37:37 (18') to 62:47 (28'). The club from Saxony then resigned itself to its fate and was no longer able to jeopardize the hosts' progression to the last four. Heidelberg will now face FC Bayern Munich.
