Chemnitz basketball team crowns strong comeback

Rodrigo Pastore's charges staged an outstanding comeback against Würzburg after two weak quarters and won despite trailing by 15 points.

The Niners Chemnitz basketball team turned around a game it had almost lost and notched up its sixth win of the season. The players of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore defeated Würzburg Baskets by 81:77 (23:32), despite trailing by 15 points at one stage. They moved past the club from Franconia in the table. Victor Bailey Jr. (20), Aher Uguak (16), DeAndre Lansdowne, William Christmas and Jeff Garrett (10 each) played the biggest part in the win. Only the outstanding Jhivvan Jackson (35) and Zachary Seljaas (13) scored in double figures for Würzburg.

Chemnitz missed the first two quarters and trailed by 14:29 in the 16th minute. 14 turnovers and a miserable three-point field goal percentage led to this clear deficit, which the club from Saxony had to chase for a long time. Würzburg was still 65:57 in front with five minutes remaining. However, the Niners then turned the game around with a 17:3 run in the space of just under four minutes and saved this lead over time.
