Ridle Baku delivers a strong performance in RB Leipzig's 3:1 win in Frankfurt. Over the next three weeks, the 28-year-old would like to continue to recommend himself for a World Cup nomination.

Ridle Baku is still hoping to travel with the DFB team to the World Cup. "I haven't booked a vacation yet. I will do that when the nomination is made - or hopefully not," revealed the RB Leipzig winger after the 3:1 win in the Bundesliga at Eintracht Frankfurt.

On May 12, national coach Julian Nagelsmann will announce his World Cup squad. And although Baku was recently absent from the international matches in Switzerland and against Ghana, he is secretly hoping to be included. "Things are just going well for me at the moment. I'm trying to help the team with my qualities. Then it's up to the national coach what he does," said the 28-year-old.

Since his debut on November 11, 2020 against the Czech Republic, Baku has only played eight international matches - most recently in November of last year in the 6-0 win over Slovakia in the World Cup qualifiers.
