Bundesliga club RB Leipzig have started training ahead of the upcoming away game with a small squad. In addition to the ten internationals, RB coach Ole Werner also had to do without Ezechiel Banzuzi and Amadou Haidara as well as the long-term injured Benjamin Henrichs, as the club announced. Leipzig, who have started the new season with one win and one defeat each, face FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday (3.30pm/Sky).
New signing Banzuzi trained individually following his metacarpal fracture, but is expected to return for parts of the team training session on Wednesday. Midfielder Haidara is missing with muscular problems, while Henrichs is undergoing recovery training after tearing his Achilles tendon.
Of the national team players, RB captain David Raum, Maarten Vandevoordt and new signing Conrad Harder have already played their international matches with Germany, Belgium and Denmark. Instead, Willi Orban with Hungary, the Austrians Xaver Schlager, Nicolas Seiwald and Christoph Baumgartner as well as the Norwegians Antonio Nusa, Kosta Nedeljkovic with Serbia and Assan Ouedraogo with the German U20s still have to play on Tuesday evening.
