Bundesliga handball club Union Halle-Neustadt will have to make do without Lotta Woch from the summer onwards. The backcourt player will leave the club at the end of the season and return to her home country to further her professional career. This was announced by the club.
It remains to be seen whether the 27-year-old backcourt player will end her career. Born in Eckernförde, Woch moved from Frisch Auf Göppingen to Halle in 2022. "For me, the two years were full of wonderful moments that I'm very grateful for. I was able to celebrate victories, play in front of big crowds, make dear, valuable friends and live my dream of playing in the first division," said Woch.
Sports Director Jan-Henning Himborn would have loved to keep Woch, who is considered a crowd favourite. "On the other hand, I can understand Lotta's desire to return home and further her professional career," said the 46-year-old.
