After the 4-2 win against Fortuna Düsseldorf, 1. FC Magdeburg said goodbye to six players who are leaving the club after the season. Among them was Livan Burcu, who is returning to his parent club Union Berlin after a one-year loan. The other two loan players, Patric Pfeiffer and Bryan Teixeira, are also returning to their home clubs Augsburg and Sturm Graz.
Jason Ceka, who was unable to make the trip due to illness, was also sent off. The previous week, he had celebrated promotion to the regional league with the U23s. Since 2021, the lively attacker has played 97 competitive matches for 1. FC Magdeburg and also made 11 appearances for the reserves.
After seven goals and five assists, Xavier Amaechi is also leaving the club he joined in 2023. Mohammed El Hankouri is also among the departing players, although coach Christian Titz would have liked to keep the Dutchman. The 27-year-old scored 21 points in 71 games for Magdeburg.
