Left-wing politician Lay has asked the federal government how the number of power cuts has developed. In Saxony, grid operators are interrupting the supply less frequently.

The number of electricity disconnections in Saxony has fallen significantly. Last year, grid operators imposed 10,966 power cuts in the state, according to an answer from the federal government to questions from MP Caren Lay (Left Party). In 2022, the figure was 14,207.

Grid operators usually interrupt the supply because bills are not paid on time. Lay is in favor of banning electricity and gas cut-offs. No one should have to sit in the dark and in a cold apartment.
