If you need medical help between Christmas and New Year, you can contact the medical emergency service in urgent cases. The on-call practices of the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Sachsen (KVS) are also available outside of regular consultation hours, according to the website. There are currently 38 locations in the state.
Patients can visit one of the on-call practices for complaints such as fever, sore throat, earache, abdominal pain or urinary tract infections. An overview of the contact points and their opening hours can be found online at www.bereitschaftspraxen.116117.de.
Patient service on 116 117
If you are unable to visit an on-call practice in acute cases, you can contact the patient service around the clock on 116 117. The KVS points out that medical home visits are generally reserved for patients who are not mobile.
In medical emergencies, the emergency doctor can help by calling 112. "In the event of life-threatening symptoms, e.g. unconsciousness, acute bleeding, severe heart problems, serious respiratory disorders, complications during pregnancy and poisoning, the emergency services are responsible," says the KVS.
