The Saxon State Parliament is heading into its summer recess. But before that happens, lawmakers will work through the agenda for the final plenary session on Thursday (starting at 10:00 a.m.). The agenda is relatively straightforward. Traditionally, the President of the State Parliament hosts a summer party after the last session before the break.
The morning’s “Current Affairs Hour” will focus on three topics. The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) has requested a debate titled “For a Culture of Reasoned Argument—Dare to Embrace More Democracy!” . The SPD is focusing on a “strong Saxony in a strong Europe”—with the aim of discussing European regional policy. In their debate, the Greens warn against dismantling the structures for historic preservation and archaeology in Saxony.
Infrastructure Minister Regina Kraushaar (CDU) will take the podium for the agenda item “Questioning of the State Government.” She is also responsible for regional development and housing construction. Her opening statement is titled “A Home of Their Own for Families and an Important Boost for the Economy.”
