The new Minister of Economic Affairs, Katherina Reiche (CDU), has announced her attendance for the second day of the East German Economic Forum in Bad Saarow, Brandenburg. She is to give a welcoming address at the three-day conference with business leaders and trade associations.
The meeting will focus in particular on the question of how the German economy can be revitalized. Companies are complaining about high energy prices, a shortage of skilled workers, a high tax and duty burden and too much bureaucracy. On Tuesday - the last day of the conference - Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil (SPD) is expected to attend.
