According to Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretschmer, the exploratory talks between the CDU/CSU and SPD for a new federal government have set the course for a change in policy. "From the first day of the new government, the changes in migration policy will be felt at the borders and also in asylum decisions," explained the CDU politician.
The aim is also to increase Germany's competitiveness. To this end, electricity prices should fall. There will also be extensive changes to the citizens' allowance and transport routes between Germany and its eastern neighbors Poland and the Czech Republic are to be expanded.
Almost two weeks after the Bundestag elections, the leaders of the CDU/CSU and SPD have reached an agreement on the key issues and now want to start concrete coalition negotiations on forming a government. Kretschmer was involved in the exploratory talks in Berlin on the CDU side.
