Building applications in Dresden can be submitted and processed completely digitally from December 15. This is made possible by linking the application portal of the Free State of Saxony to the central nationwide online platform, as announced by the City of Dresden. The aim is to make building more attractive. "This includes transparent and fast approval procedures for developers and architects," said the city's building mayor, Stephan Kühn (Alliance 90/The Greens). In addition to applying for various procedures, it should also be possible in future to pay fees from notices online.
Until now, building applications could only be submitted in paper form, according to the information provided. According to the building inspectorate, these applications were first scanned and then processed digitally. The new regulation now simplifies the process. This was made possible by an amendment to the state building regulations that came into force in 2025. It is still possible to submit applications in paper form.
