After the split of the "Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht", the party in Saxony presents itself stable so far. 30 party entries would be 20 - leaves, announced party leader Stefan Hartmann on Wednesday in Dresden. The consideration of some that whole circle federations could change to the "alliance Sahra Wagenknecht" did not materialize. One is far from having a profound problem, he said. "People will leave, even in the future. That's always the case." But the party can go into the election campaign stable and area-wide with the current structures.
According to co-chairwoman Susanne Schaper, the party nevertheless needs an analysis and must talk about the losses. One does not have now a button, which one can press and everything becomes again well. The mood in the party is connected with the feeling of a new beginning, but also with the relief that the hullabaloo now has an end.
Wagenknecht had communicated at the beginning of last week her resignation from the left and plans for the establishment of a new party. Initially, the association "Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht" is to collect donations for it. The foundation of the party is planned for January. According to Wagenknecht, the new party is to compete in the European elections in June 2024 and aims to participate in the state elections in Saxony, Thuringia and Brandenburg in September.
