Travel providers gather information on the Capital of Culture 2025

A showcase for the Capital of Culture Year 2025: the city of Chemnitz and the surrounding area will be presenting itself to travel providers and trade journalists from almost 40 countries from this Sunday. The occasion is the Germany Travel Mart, which is being held in Chemnitz until Tuesday. At this annual event, the German tourism industry presents its products and services to international trade visitors and provides information on trends in German tourism. At the same time, new contacts are to be made and contracts negotiated for the coming year. According to the German National Tourist Board, 235 buyers and decision-makers from the international travel industry as well as 110 media representatives are expected to attend.

In addition to the trade event in the Stadthalle, participants will also be offered tours of the region. According to the information provided, they will visit various museums or stations on the "Purple Path" - a flagship project of Chemnitz as European Capital of Culture 2025. The art trail connects Chemnitz with the surrounding area. The Capital of Culture year is expected to attract around two million visitors.
