The new hiking season kicked off on Wednesday on the Erzgebirge-Vogtland ridge trail in glorious sunshine. According to the Erzgebirge Tourism Association, guided hikes and festivals were offered in several places, for example in Altenberg and Olbernhau.

In the region around the Schwartenberg, the start of the hiking season was also the prelude to an entire spring hiking week until 11 May. A guided themed tour is offered there every day.

The ridge trail runs for almost 290 kilometers from Altenberg in the Eastern Ore Mountains to the Vogtland and ends in Blankenstein in Thuringia. In addition to the landscape, it also offers insights into the UNESCO World Heritage Ore Mountains/Krušnohoří.
