As the fall break begins in Saxony and Thuringia, the number of flights from the Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports is increasing. During the break, more weekly departures are scheduled from both airports than during the summer break, according to Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG. A total of 95 flights will take off on the first weekend of the break—primarily to Mediterranean vacation destinations and Egypt. A total of 70 departures are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Leipzig/Halle Airport. Antalya is the most popular destination, with 26 flights scheduled there. Seven departures each are scheduled for Hurghada, Palma de Mallorca, and Heraklion. There are also connections to Frankfurt and Vienna, from where travelers can continue their journeys. From Dresden, 25 departures are scheduled. Frankfurt and Antalya are particularly popular destinations, each with six flights, as is Munich with five flights. Other destinations include Palma de Mallorca, Heraklion, Rhodes, Bolzano, and Zurich. During the fall break, up to 200 weekly departures are scheduled from Leipzig/Halle. That’s more than during the summer break, when up to 146 weekly departures were planned. Up to 94 flights per week are scheduled to depart from Dresden, compared to up to 79 during the summer break.
