The North Saxony District Office is opening the season with a new offer: visitors can experience the bears Bea and Benno up close.

Freshly awakened from hibernation, the Torgau bears can soon be experienced up close. From April to October, the North Saxony District Office is offering various guided tours this year. Visitors can marvel at the brown bears Bea and Benno up close and watch them being fed. The highlight of the tours is a visit to the bears in the outdoor enclosure, according to the district office.

The keeping of bears has a long tradition in Torgau, dating back to the 15th century. The animals belong to the district of North Saxony. The bear keepers are employed by the district office.
