Dresden has to cut down around 150 trees due to drought stress

Climate change is tearing further gaps in Dresden's tree population. By mid-October, the city will have felled around 150 trees in the Blasewitz forest park that have fallen victim to drought stress. "The felling of the approximately 100 to 150-year-old trees, which are mainly copper beeches, is necessary because they have died due to the prevailing climatic conditions of recent years, such as heat and drought," the city announced.
