The number of violent crimes at Leipzig Central Station rose significantly last year compared to 2024 - no other station saw more violent crimes in 2025. According to figures from the Federal Police, the number at other stations also rose, but in some places it also fell. The figures for the ten railroad stations with the highest number of violent crimes nationwide are available to the German Press Agency, first reported by Bild am Sonntag. The Federal Police did not provide overall figures on violent crimes at all train stations in Germany for 2025.
According to the Federal Police, 859 violent crimes were recorded at Leipzig Central Station last year. While the station took the inglorious top spot in this evaluation this year, it was not among the five stations with the most violent crimes in 2024. As in the previous year, Dortmund is in second place, with 735 violent crimes recorded here last year.
Berlin Central Station is the next station where the situation has improved: the Federal Police counted 654 violent crimes last year, compared to 764 in 2024. The figures also fell in Cologne (from 703 to 648) and Hanover (from 715 to 612). The figures for 2024 are based on an answer from the German government to a question from the AfD parliamentary group.
