Lipzig Central Station was the station with the highest number of violent crimes of all railroad stations in Germany last year - concrete measures are now being taken to increase security there. In future, so-called Quattro patrols will be deployed in and around Leipzig Central Station, as announced by Deutsche Bahn. Officers from the state police, the federal police and employees from the city security service and DB Sicherheit will be on patrol together. Details will be announced by Deutsche Bahn next Thursday (February 26).
According to the Federal Police, 859 violent crimes were recorded at Leipzig Central Station last year - the most in Germany. Deutsche Bahn has launched an immediate program for more security and cleanliness, especially at train stations. As part of the program, Deutsche Bahn intends to deploy more security staff at 25 selected stations. According to the company, it is working with the Federal Police to equip more stations with cameras and video technology.
