After a train derailed during construction work near Gotha (Thuringia), there are disruptions to Deutsche Bahn's long-distance services. According to the railroad company, connections between Erfurt, Fulda and Frankfurt am Main are affected. Trains between Leipzig, Kassel and Cologne are also affected. The line between Erfurt and Gotha is currently closed. According to Deutsche Bahn, the disruption should be resolved by midday.
A spokesperson for the Federal Police said that the locomotive derailed at around 00:45 in the morning. A switch was damaged as a result. No one was injured in the accident.
