Leipzig/Halle and Dresden Airports have stated that they are not affected by the computer problems that have occurred worldwide. A spokesperson for Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG said in response to an inquiry that a Sundair aircraft had landed in Dresden that was actually due to fly to Berlin.
In contrast to Saxony, Berlin and Hamburg airports had to temporarily suspend operations due to IT disruptions. According to media reports, the operation of banks and hospitals was also disrupted in addition to air traffic in other countries.
At the two university hospitals in Leipzig and Dresden, there were initially no effects, the respective press departments reported on request. Chemnitz Hospital was also not aware of any disruptions.
According to media reports, a bug in a program update from the IT security company Crowdstrike was suspected as the cause. The error at Crowdstrike had in turn disrupted Microsoft software, reported media such as the financial service Bloomberg.
