The construction of the research center for recycling technologies in Lusatia has begun. "Structural change is continuing to gather pace," said State Development Minister Regina Kraushaar (CDU) at the symbolic laying of the foundation stone, according to a statement. The project will bring know-how, investment and new prospects for the people in the region.
The "CircEcon" science center is being built on the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park on the state border with Brandenburg. Strategies for a greenhouse-neutral circular economy are to be developed there. The Technical Universities of Dresden, Chemnitz and Freiberg and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences are involved.
