Passengers in eastern Saxony must prepare for higher prices on local transport: In the coming month, ticket prices in the Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia Transport Association (ZVON) are set to rise by an average of around seven percent. Almost all city and regional transport tickets will be affected, the association announced.
The prices for educational tickets and school group tickets will not be increased. Day tickets and the cross-border "Euro-Neisse-Ticket" are also only slightly more expensive. The price for short-distance tickets on regional transport will remain unchanged. According to ZVON, occasional customers will not be charged as much. There is a new rule for the SeniorTicket: instead of a child, a dog can also be taken along free of charge in future.
The transport companies in the ZVON are reacting to increased costs for personnel, energy and materials with the price increase. The association had already raised prices regularly in recent years - most recently a year ago.
Tickets at the old price will remain valid for three months. Information on the changeover is available on the association's website.
The ZVON is responsible for local public transport in the district of Görlitz and in the east of the district of Bautzen.
