Consumer prices in Saxony rose more slowly in 2025 than in the previous year. Lower energy prices in particular had an impact, but some services became noticeably more expensive.

Consumer prices in Saxony rose by 2.2 percent in 2025. The increase was lower than in 2024 (2.9 percent), according to preliminary calculations by the State Statistical Office in Kamenz. This was mainly due to lower energy prices (-4.2 percent) and price reductions for fuel (-2.1 percent).

Insurance services for travel and luggage (16.3 percent), nursing home services (8.5 percent) and higher parental contributions in daycare facilities (6.6 percent) in the education sector were significantly more expensive.

In December 2025, the annual inflation rate was 1.9 percent, the first time it had been below the two percent mark since March 2021.
