Construction work: Longer journey times and cancellations on long-distance services

Which connections are affected?

Trains on the Wiesbaden-Dresden ICE line will therefore start and end in Leipzig, with no stops in Riesa and Dresden. According to Deutsche Bahn, there will be replacement buses between Leipzig and Dresden and individual trains will be rerouted with a journey time extension of up to 90 minutes and without a stop in Riesa. On the IC connection between Hanover and Dresden, trains will run every two hours between Leipzig and Dresden on the detour route with a stop in Elsterwerda. This will result in arrival and departure times in Dresden being changed by 30 to 60 minutes.

From June 26 to July 12, there will be longer journey times and a reduced long-distance service due to bridge construction work in Thuringia. According to Deutsche Bahn, trains between Leipzig/Halle and Erfurt will therefore have to take a detour. This means that the journey between Leipzig and Munich will take up to 60 minutes longer. Trains between Leipzig and Erfurt will take around 20 minutes longer. Trains such as the direct connections between Frankfurt/Main and Halle (Saale) will also be canceled.
