The 2025 Capital of Culture year has brought a record number of visitors to the Chemnitz Industrial Museum. The museum announced that the 100,000 visitor mark was broken on Wednesday. Only around 62,000 guests were counted in the previous year.
"We are delighted that we were able to reach and inspire so many people with our program," said museum director Jürgen Kabus. He attributed the great interest to the extensive program, which allows visitors to experience industrial culture in a variety of ways.
The seven special exhibitions include the major show "Tales of Transformation" as well as the "Museumcircle" based on a concept by John Cage. A wide variety of exhibits from museums in the region were presented together.
