Hollywood actress Sandra Hüller will be awarded the "Die Europa" acting prize at this year's Braunschweig International Film Festival (BIFF). The prize, worth 25,000 euros, is considered the festival's highest honor, according to the organizers. Hüller has "rightly made a name for herself in international cinema with her multifaceted talent", said Thorsten Rinke, Chairman of the Filmfest Association.
The 47-year-old lives in Leipzig and is internationally known for her roles in the multi-award-winning dramas "Anatomy of a Case" and "The Zone of Interest". Hüller was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role for "Anatomy of a Case" last year.

The Hollywood actress has already appeared in numerous film and series productions. She has received numerous film awards for her work. Festival visitors can meet Hüller in person during the festival week: On November 15, she invites them to a talk in Braunschweig.
The 39th Braunschweig International Film Festival runs from November 10 to 16 and shows around 200 films, including four world premieres. It will open with a live performance of Alfred Hitchcock's classic "Psycho" with the Braunschweig State Orchestra. The festival awards prize money with a total value of 65,500 euros.
