Between May 14 and 19, around 90 feature films, documentaries and short films will be shown at 19 venues in the tri-border region of Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.
The opening film is the drama "Ellenbogen", which portrays a young woman. The highlight of the film festival is the awards ceremony on May 18 at the Kühlhaus in Görlitz. What began with the idea of showing films in three countries has "developed into a cultural bridge for film fans from the three neighboring countries," it said. The festival is an important meeting place for the national and international film scene and the film industry.
In addition to three competitions and various film series, the program includes concerts, exhibitions, readings and parties. The focus this time is on female perspectives. Another highlight announced is a concert with Ukrainian rapper Alyona Alyona, who caused a sensation with her debut video in 2018.
