The employees of the Saxon breweries no longer want to be paid less than their West German colleagues. They are continuing their industrial action.

The Food, Beverages and Catering Union (NGG) is continuing its industrial action in breweries in Saxony. According to the NGG, the warning strike will start with the early shift on Thursday at the Freiberg brewery and the Krostitz brewery. The brewery entrepreneurs had not submitted an offer in the last negotiations. In the collective bargaining areas in the west, negotiations have long been concluded. The NGG is demanding a wage increase of seven percent for the Saxony-Thuringia brewing industry. The wage gap to employees in the west must be reduced.

The next negotiation date is August 14. In view of this date, the union wants to increase the pressure on employers. The NGG states that 63 shifts have been canceled so far in six plants of the so-called "Kombinat Ost", meaning that more than 40 million bottles of beer could not be filled.
