A 54-year-old van driver has crashed into a sign van on the Autobahn 9 near Wiedemar and was seriously injured. The 54-year-old had overlooked the sign van, which had closed off the right-hand lane, on Wednesday and crashed into it, police said on Thursday morning. The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The sign van is a truck and trailer that is currently blocking the right-hand lane of the Autobahn 9 due to a lane narrowing. The closure was previously announced with additional signs. The highway was fully closed in the area of the accident site at the Wiedemar junction in the direction of Munich for around two and a half hours.
